Supported Independent Living (SIL) NDIS [locationcapture title-count="5"]

What is SIL NDIS?

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a program offered under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in [locationcapture title-count=”5″]Australia. SIL provides assistance and support to individuals with a disability to live as independently as possible in their own home or in shared accommodation.

Under the SIL program, participants receive assistance with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, housekeeping, and managing finances. The level of support provided is tailored to each participant’s individual needs and goals, with the aim of enhancing their independence and quality of life.

Nexus Care Services is an NDIS registered provider that offers SIL services. They provide a range of support services to participants to help them achieve their goals, including assistance with daily living activities, social and recreational activities, and support with accessing the community.

Nexus Care Services works closely with participants to develop personalized care plans, ensuring that they receive the support they need to live as independently as possible. They have a team of trained and experienced support workers who provide high-quality care and support, empowering participants to live fulfilling and meaningful lives.

Who is eligible for Supported Independent Living (SIL) [locationcapture title-count="5"]under the NDIS?

To be eligible for SIL under the NDIS, a person must have a permanent and significant disability that impacts their ability to live independently. The disability must be verified by a registered medical practitioner or other qualified health professional. The person must also be an NDIS participant and have SIL included in their NDIS plan.

How is the level of support determined under the SIL program?

The assessment process to determine the level of support required under the SIL program involves a comprehensive evaluation of the participant’s needs and goals. This may include assessments of the participant’s functional capacity, communication abilities, and any specific health or medical needs they may have.

The assessment is typically carried out by a qualified healthcare professional or support coordinator, who will work closely with the participant to identify their needs and develop a personalized care plan. The care plan will outline the type and level of support required, including any specific training or equipment that may be necessary to ensure the participant’s safety and wellbeing.

Once the care plan has been developed, the support provider will work with the participant to implement the plan and provide ongoing support and monitoring. The level of support provided will be regularly reviewed to ensure that it remains appropriate and that the participant’s goals and needs are being met.
